    You can’t really describe what this book is about without it sounding odd, but it’s so wonderful and makes you really think about and appreciate the small things in life!

    Wonderful book. You commit to the characters quickly. It is extraordinarily sad at times but holds a humour and generous narrative about friendships formed and solidified that is restorative to the soul!

  • Thought provoking, amazing storyline and beautifully written

    I read this book in less than 2 weeks and that is very quick for me! But I just couldn’t put it down and when I did, I couldn’t wait to pick it back up again. The storyline and main character, Eleanor, is so inspiring and relative. I would 100% recommend anyone to give this a read.

    A wonderfully compassionate journey into the world of a young girl/woman who has had some incredibly difficult situations to cope with. More of an experience than a book.....thoroughly absorbing and delightful.

    Am not an avid reader. But this book had me from the beginning. The type of book that you read at 3am to get you back to sleep and at 6 you’re still reading. Fantastic read
  • Slightly overrated

    I was recommended this book by a few people. I found I had reached the 500th page out of 700 and nothing had really happened, it was mainly about Eleanor’s day to day life. Only until I read a little further it got really interesting and I couldn’t put it down.

    I was unsure when I first started reading this book. I pretty much couldn’t stand Eleanor at first and wondered how the author was going to make me change my mind. Once you get to know her, you end up loving her, mesmerised even! I have a difficult and similar relationship with my mother and it caused me to become completely hooked!! The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger so I’m hoping for a sequel (pretty please)?! Definitely worth a read people!!

    What a lovely book. Very easy to read and thoroughly enjoyable. The character was very likeable and I really wanted the best for her. Was it an obvious ending, yes, did I care, No. I would recommend this book to anyone. One thing that I will say is that it is a very easy book to read, I finished it in one day so don’t expect it to last the length of your holiday!!!
